Imagine Newton with safe and convenient routes for bicyclists! With bike lanes, “Bike Route” signs, smooth shoulders and bike signals. Imagine Newton if we could safely bike to do errands, get to the T, and if kids could bike to school and after-school activities. Imagine many more people biking just for fun.

On paper, Newton's roads look bicycle-friendly: the Newton Comprehensive Plan and the Newton Energy Action Plan are pro-bike, the state provides incentives for bikeways (Paulsen Bill), and we have a realistic Newton Bicycle Accommodation & Integration Plan.

Now we’re turning talk into action! View photos/videos of our Rally & Ride events, where we have demonstrated broad support for Newton’s application to be designated a Bicycle Friendly Community.
