Join us for a special holiday weekend ride we call “Bites and Sounds of the City”. This ride will include much of the Charles River bike path, and a stop in Boston’s Chinatown for a dim sum brunch, and will continue on to the scenic Maritime Park in the Seaport District to view the harbor and check out a bit of the Boston Jazz Festival. You will be able to see how accessible many great attractions in Boston are, using your bike to get around!
After stopping in Chinatown, riders will have to option to head directly back to Newton, rather than continuing on to the Seaport District. There may be a leader for that return trip, but that is not guaranteed. Riders also have the option of taking the commuter rail (with their bike) back to Newton from South Station rather than riding back. Worcester/Framingham trains to Newton depart South Station at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00pm on Saturday.
Meet in front of the Star Market at 33 Austin St, in Newtonville, and we’ll leave at 10:00am. This is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required. 10-12 miles each direction. Be sure to check bikenewton.org for any last-minute changes.
