SUMMARY:Ride to Beethoven's Ninth
DESCRIPTION:It’s Summer in the City!  Join us for an evening ride along the Charles River to the Hatch Shell.  The Boston Landmarks Orchestra will be performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and several other shorter works.   Details here:  https://www.thebostoncalendar.com/events/boston-landmarks-orchestra-beethoven-s-9th-symphony .   Bring a picnic supper if you’d like.  Program is scheduled from 7-9pm\, though the group can return earlier if we’d like.  And have lights on your bike\, as we may be coming back after dark. \nMeet at the Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville\, and we’ll leave at 6pm.  This is a family-friendly\, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited\, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult.  Bike helmets are required.  18 miles roundtrip.  Be sure to check bikenewton.org for last-minute changes. DESCRIPTION:Bike riders from BikeNewton and BikingBrookline will join forces this Saturday for a ride around the Charles river through Newton\, Waltham and Boston.  BikingBrookline departs at 9:15am from Brookline High School.  Details here: https://www.bikingbrookline.org/grouprides \nThe Brookline contingent will then cycle up Commonwealth Ave and meet the Newton group at the corner of Comm Ave. and Walnut St. at 10:00 am.   Whether you are joining the ride in Brookline or Newton\, please register here.  (If starting in Newton at 10am\, answer “yes” to the related question.)     So let’s meet up in the carriage lane at the corner of Comm. DESCRIPTION:“Double-Header” of group bike rides this weekend.  Join us for one or both! \nSunday Morning   8/28\, 9:30am we are going to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln.  We’ll be leaving from Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville.   The ride should be 18 miles round trip. \n \nand \n\nMonday evening\, 8/29\, 6:00pm we are going on the Heartbreak Hill-Chestnut Hill Reservoir loop of 6.5 miles.   A fairly short ride\, but there a couple of hills.  This ride will leave from the Newton Library on Homer St. in Newton Center.\n\nThese are family-friendly\, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited\, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult.
