SUMMARY:Group Ride - Arnold Arboretum & Jamaica Pond
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cycling tour to Jamaica Plain through Newton \, Brookline and West Roxbury\, passing through the Arnold Arboretum and  returning via Jamaica Pond and some of the Jamaicaway bike path.   On the way back\, we can stop at JP Licks in JP Center for some ice cream!   Meet in front of the Newton Main library on Homer St. in Newton Center\, and we’ll leave at 1:00pm. This is a family-friendly\, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited\, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required.   13.5 miles roundtrip. Approximate Route \n\n\n\n\nVolunteers Needed for Bike Rodeo Sunday May 7! \nBike Newton is excited to provide volunteers again for the Newton bike rodeo! This popular event\, back for its third year\, will take place from 10am to 2pm on Sunday\, May 7. Newton school students in grade K-6 work with Massachusetts Safe Routes to School instructors who teach and review bike riding skills. SUMMARY:Group Ride - Rose Art Museum at Brandeis\, Waltham
DESCRIPTION:Visit a museum on your bike!  Join us for a ride to the Rose Art Museum on the Brandeis University campus in Waltham.  We’ll ride down Comm. Ave in Newton and through the Auburndale Cove\, and South St.\, and on the return\, through the Mt. Feake Cemetery and more of the Blue Heron Trail on the Charles River.   The Museum opens at 11am\, and admission is free\, but you should register beforehand.    As a group we can decide how long to stay at the museum\, but probably something like an hour. \nMeet in front of the Newton Main Library on Homer St. in Newton Center\, and we’ll leave at 10:30am.  This is a family-friendly\, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited\, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. DESCRIPTION:Due to the forecast for rain May 20\, we’ve postponed this ride to next week\, May 27th! \nJoin us for a ride to Jamaica Plain to the headquarters of BikesNotBombs (284 Amory St.\, JP) where we will join in and ride with their monthly Unity in Community Ride which is planned to go 11am to 1pm.  And then the group would head back to Newton.   A few of us participated in this BNB ride last month and it was a lot a fun!    Meet in front of the Newton Main library on Homer St. in Newton Center\, and we’ll leave at 10:00am. This is a family-friendly\, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited\, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required.   Approx. 20 miles roundtrip.
