This 0.5-mile segment is part of a 23-mile former railroad corridor leased from the MBTA by DCR for the creation of a shared-use path between Waltham and Berlin\, which in turn is part of the envisioned 104-mile MCRT shared-use path from Boston to Northampton. The segment in Weston and Wayland is complete\, and the City of Waltham is building the segment from Route 117 to Beaver Street. This segment would connect those two. \nFor live updates about the project\, visit the project event page: Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT) Waltham toWeston | Mass.gov. The public will be invited to submit comments after the meeting\, with a deadline for\nreceipt by DCR of September 29th\, 2022.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Bike Newton WinterFEST ride on Sunday at 4PM! This will be a short loop 3 mile loop from Newton Centre to Newton Highlands and back. This is part of Newton Community Pride’s first annual WinterFEST next weekend! See below for more details on the ride and the weekend. \nRide:\nWe will meet Sunday 4PM at the Newton Centre Green (corner of Centre and Langley). As always\, helmets are required. In addition\, lights are required. This is for both safety and also for fun. Please make sure you have at least a front and a back light. The more lights the better – contribute to the festive atmosphere! Email ed@bikenewton.org if you are interested so we can get a soft number for the ride. The ride will be weather/road conditions dependent\, so expect a follow up email on Saturday to confirm or cancel. Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is conducting a feasibility study for a shared-use trail connection between the Route I-95 rail bridge (“Two Bridges”) at the southeast corner of Leo J.
