Newton celebrates Earth Day Sunday April 24, 1-4pm at Newton City Hall. This festival event is presented by Green Newton: full details here. A great way to celebrate Earth Day is to ride a bike! Join us for a ride to the Auburndale Cove, one of our most popular group rides. Meet up at the Bike Newton table in War Memorial Circle at 12:45 for this approx. 1-hr ride. We'll leave at 1:00 pm and when we return, Earth Day festivities will continue until 4pm. Group Ride – Arnold Arboretum & Jamaica Pond
It's springtime, and what better time for a bicycle ride to the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain through Newton, Brookline and West Roxbury. Return trip via Jamaica Pond and some of the Jamaicaway bike path. We will stop for lunch in JP Center, or bring a picnic lunch, Meet in front of the Newton Main library on Homer St. in Newton Center, and we’ll leave promptly at 11:00 am.
