Newton Bike & Pedestrian Task Force
“The Newton Bicycle/Pedestrian Task Force is an independent citizen activist group that works with the city and local organizations to secure safe, practical and convenient bicycle and pedestrian access in Newton, MA.”

Bay Colony Rail Trail
“The Bay Colony Rail Trail Association is a non-profit with the sole mission to define, design, create and maintain the rail trail. The Rail Trail project is planned as a private-public project, where board members from Medfield, Needham and Newton share best practices, planning, funding and administration of the initiative with the non-profit Bay Colony Rail Trail Association (BCRTA).”
NOTE: The Bay Colony Rail Trail supports the UPPER FALLS GREENWAY in NEWTON, the Needham Rail Trail, the Medford Rail Trail and the Dover Rail Trail.
LOBBY DAY at the MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE
Every year, BikeNewton joins with MassBike on a designated LOBBY DAY to “discuss key bike-friendly policies, and help ensure bicycling remains a priority across the commonwealth” with Newton’s State legislators at the State House to advocate for upcoming legislation regarding bicycling in Massachusetts. In 2025 on the Feb. 11 LOBBY DAY we met with Reps. Amy Sangiolo ( 11th Middlesex), Rep. Greg Schwartz (12th Middlesex), and the aide to State Senator Cynthia Creem (Norfolk and Middlesex counties).
