Join us for the first “official” Bike Newton Group Ride of 2025:  an afternoon ride to the Somerville Porchfest.   Plan on meeting at the Star Market, 33 Austin St. in Newtonville at 1 pm.  We’ll ride the Watertown-Cambridge Greenway, around Fresh Pond and arrive in Davis Square around 2pm.   We can spend a couple of hours checking out some of the (literally) hundreds of bands in the Central Zone, and then head back to Newton at approx. 4 pm, going the same way we arrived, or going via Harvard Sq. and the Charles River.

Once at the Porchfest, it is bound to be a bit crowded;  the group leader will make every effort to keep the group together, but there may be some riders in the group who would like to leave earlier or stay later.  If so, those riders may not be guaranteed to have a group leader back to Newton; they may need to self-guide back.

Keep in mind  that this ride is also a great way to warm-up for our May 17th “MinuteMan Ride” to Concord!  And note that this is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required.   Total 16 miles roundtrip. Be sure to check bikenewton.org for last-minute changes or weather cancellations.
