  • Bike Month 2026 Kickoff Ride and Party

    Join us for a ride to kick off Mass Bike Month, hosted by Mass Bike, our great state-wide biking advocacy group.  We'll be going to Roundhead Brewing Co. in Hyde Park celebrate with other bikers.  The plan is to leave from the Newton Library on Homer St. in Newton Center at 3:00pm.   We'll arrive at Roundhead Brewery at approx. 4:15, meet up with other bike enthusiasts from the Boston area and enjoy a beverage and a snack for a little break, then head back to Newton, arriving back at the library by 6:30pm.  Mass Bike requests that you please register (https://www.massbike.org/bike_month_kickoff_2026)  , so they [...]

  • Earth Day 2026 Group Ride

    Let's celebrate EARTH DAY, presented by our partners Green Newton, at the Zervas School, 30 Beethoven Ave. in Waban.   Sunday May 3rd, 12 noon to 3:30pm.  Stop by the Bike Newton table and -- even better -- we invite you to volunteer to staff the Bike Newton booth:  Sign-up for a time slot right here!    Let people know you support safe biking in Newton!   • Tour de Porchfest Newton-2026

    Join us for a tour by bicycle of the Newton PorchFest 2026.   We'll start at the Library at 330 Homer St. and visit a number of bands in Waban, Aurburndale, West Newton and Lower Falls.  The whole tour is scheduled for about 4 hours; riders may bail out early and head home if they need to, or meet up during the ride at one of the stops.  Feel free to bring lunch, drinks, snacks.  The planned route is still in the works.  We'll let you know as soon as the band schedule is finalized.
