Newton Group Bike Ride

It's the first Bike Newton group ride of the year!   This is a great one for kids, families and folks of all ages.  And a good way to warm up for Mass Bike Month in May.   From the Newton Library, we'll go down the Commonwealth Ave. Carriage lane to Auburndale, through the Cove north and along Charles river path in Waltham, to Newtonville and back to the Library. Join us for a ride to kick off Mass Bike Month, hosted by Mass Bike, our great state-wide biking advocacy group.  We'll be going to Roundhead Brewing Co. in Hyde Park celebrate with other bikers.  The plan is to leave from the Newton Library on Homer St. in Newton Center at 3:00pm.   We'll arrive at Roundhead Brewery at approx. 4:15, meet up with other bike enthusiasts from the Boston area and enjoy a beverage and a snack for a little break, then head back to Newton, arriving back at the library by 6:30pm.  Mass Bike requests that you please register (https://www.massbike.org/bike_month_kickoff_2026)  , so they [...]

Join us for a tour by bicycle of the Newton PorchFest 2026.   We'll start at the Library at 330 Homer St. and visit a number of bands in Waban, Aurburndale, West Newton and Lower Falls.  The whole tour is scheduled for about 4 hours; riders may bail out early and head home if they need to, or meet up during the ride at one of the stops.  Feel free to bring lunch, drinks, snacks.  The planned route is still in the works.  We'll let you know as soon as the band schedule is finalized.
