Angie Schmitt Talk at Newton Public Library

On Sept. 15, 2022, Bike Newton co-sponsored (along with GreenNewton) a presentation by Angie Schmitt, author of Right of Way: Race, Class and the Silent Epidemic of Pedestrian Deaths in America. She discussed how inequality and other social trends increase traffic congestion and make walking (and bicycling) on our streets needlessly dangerous. Angie also shared her vision for better-connected and safer conditions for walking, biking and other forms of active transportation.
