Group Ride: East Bay Bike Path, Providence RI

Bike Newton Group Rides head to Providence, RI to try out the East Bay Bike Path!  Meet at the East Bay Bike Path Public Parking at 9:30am.  This is the Veterans Memorial Parkway parking lot.  We encourage car-pooling; the lot can get crowded.  We'll be travelling through East Providence, Warren, Bristol and Barrington.  Bring a picnic lunch, or buy something en route. Group Ride: Ride to JP to Join Bikes Not Bombs Community Unity Ride

Join us for a ride to Jamaica Plain to the headquarters of BikesNotBombs (284 Amory St., JP) where we will join and ride with BNB's  final Unity in Community Ride of the season which is planned to go 11am to 1pm.  And then the group would head back to Newton.   The BNB rides usually feature a large number of riders, plenty of music and a lot of fun.  This BNB ride is short (6 mi.) and will tour through Franklin Park and the Arnold Arboretum. Ave. to Weston, through the back roads of Weston and Lincoln,  join the Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT) in Wayland, , then back on the MCRT to Waltham and Newton.     Meet in front of the Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville, and we’ll leave at 10:00 am. Group Ride – The Joyful River Ride

Starting in Newtonville, we'll ride along the Charles River to Harvard Square in Cambridge, then head up Concord Ave. to Fresh Pond.  We'll partially circle the pond and head back towards Watertown on the  Watertown-Cambridge Greenway.  Before arriving at Watertown Square, riders will have the option of stopping for lunch at Joyful Garden in the Watertown Mall for some of the best dim sum available outside of Chinatown.   Whether you want to stop at Joyful Garden or go directly back to Newtonville, ride leaders will be available in both cases.
