    Join us for a special holiday weekend ride we call "Bites and Sounds of the City".    This ride will include much of the Charles River bike path, and a stop in Boston's Chinatown for a dim sum brunch, and will continue on to the scenic Maritime Park in the Seaport District to view the harbor and check out a bit of the Boston Jazz Festival.  You will be able to see how accessible many great attractions in Boston are, using your bike to get around!   • Group Ride: Infrastructure Tour with Northeastern’s STAN!

    Sustainable Transportation At Northeastern (STAN) and the Boston Cyclist's Union are collaborating yet again for another Fall Bike Tour! The ride will be led by BCU board member and professor, Peter Furth. We will learn about bike infrastructure along the way with a focus especially on Cambridge's new Broadway bike way.   This will be a fun, informative and relaxed ride open to everyone!     It's October and that means it's time for Honk!  Festival of Activist Street Bands! Join us for a nice ride to Honk!   Starting in Newtonville, we'll go to Watertown Sq., then on the off-road bike path past Fresh Pond to Davis Square in Somerville.  We can have a bite to eat, see a few of the Honk! bands in the Davis Sq. area, and then head back.  How long we stay at Honk! can be determined by the group, but perhaps about one hour.   We can return either along the some route, or via Harvard Sq. and the Charles River bike path.   • Group Ride – MCRT – Weston – Wayland

    Join us for what could the last official Bike Newton group ride of the year.   We will start in Newtonville, head out Commonwealth Ave. towards Weston, ending up on the Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT) going west.   We'll bike to Wayland on the MCRT, turn around and head back to Waltham, eventually getting to the Charles River Trail and then back to Newtonville.  To celebrate the end of another great summer biking season (and the start of winter biking!) all riders are invited to come to  the Ride Leaders house in Newtonville, in the back yard for some hot cider and snacks.
